It gets even worse!!!!! I posted this rant on the NAPIT forum and have just been on to check posts and low and behold its disappeared!. So basically napit don't wish to allow open discussion on the issue I've raised!..

NAPIT would be a natural home for me as I only carry out Inspection and Testing but they do not have any profile with potential clients. The big question is why would a client accept an organisation they have never heard of. What's in for them?
If I were a client thinking of getting my factory PIRed for insurance purposes why would I choose a person registered as a Domestic Installer? I have never been asked for any other organisation.
So please do not register with any organisation or register with one of the other organisations as I do not need any more competition! But have to admit I'm seriously thinking of turning to 'the dark side'. I think the NIC does give you extra kudos and is generally much more recognised than any of the others.

Do absolutely nothing for the money you pay them, except send an Assesser round with no site experience and yet hyper critical of your work.
