Or Cap1 points post when you charge posts. Probably one of the biggest pet peeve's about AMEX people have is the delay. I think the points from your first statement are delayed until your second statement but after that they should be available as soon as the statement posts. Sign up bonuses usually post a day or two after meeting the spend requirement.
Signup bonuses, retention bonuses, and Amex Offers usually show up 1 or 2 days after the charges are finalized. Normal spending including category bonuses that are part of the card's normal earning structure will always post a day or two after the following statement has closed.
If your statement period is from September 4th to October 3rd, the points earned from those charges will be pending until a day or two after your November 3rd statement closes. You can always hop on chat and ask for your pending MR points to be accelerated. As with most things credit related, YMMV. Filed Under:. If you trust online word of mouth, though, your pile of Membership Rewards points should arrive much quicker, within just a few days of hitting that minimum spend. Thankfully, the timeline for American Express rewards earned via everyday swiping is less ambiguous.
Anecdotally, however, points seem to post just a few days after your statement closes. The same goes for business credit cards, too. In my personal experience, it happens much faster than that. Unless otherwise noted in the offer disclosure, Doelp said that points earned on a transaction are available to redeem at the end of the billing cycle in which the purchase was made.
In the meantime, you can track your earnings via your Ultimate Rewards activity dashboard. Once again, though, anecdotal evidence indicates that your points could show up as soon as a couple of days after your billing cycle ends.
ThankYou points earned via everyday card spend should post to your account pretty soon after your statement closes. If you need to book a ticket quickly, you may want to consider opting for an Amex card, since the bonuses tend to post quickly. If you have time or no immediate redemption in mind, apply for the best travel credit card that best fits your plans.
