I myself have done a half-dozen projects with him, going back thirty years, and I believe the explanation for his great success is extremely simple: Jerry is a musical genius, and he works hard.

I had a similar thought as Air Force One , began, thinking wow, this score is great, percussive and clean and tense. But that was Jerry, too.

Throughout the story, Beowulf handles many tough situations in which he almost always comes out the hero, saving the lives of the citizens. Beowulf exhibited great courage by making the decision to face Grendel given the information he had concerning the great strength of this beast.

Beowulf also showed exceptional courage when he declared Wiglaf was loyal to Beowulf, and went to help him defeat the dragon. The Germanic people had a code they expected their kings and warriors to adhere to.

Firstly, a great Germanic king must have courage. The epic of Beowulf has three heroic figures. Hrothgar, Beowulf and Wiglaf all become heroes in the story after a feat of strength and bravery transports their name across the land.

To become a hero each warrior must first prove themselves on the field of battle. Hrothgar, presented in the beginning, is the first and oldest, his heroic exploits are mentioned briefly.

The fact that the beast lives within the boys and is impossible to kill instills a great amount of panic in Simon and even sends him unconscious. Additionally, another occurrence of altered reality is when the boys see Simon emerging in the darkness, think it is the beast and kill him.

Grendel is an enemy of God. He is a powerful ogre that resides in the dark, wet marshes. He is a shadow of death that grows impatient with the Danes. He delights in their slaughter. Having purged Denmark of its plagues and established himself as a hero, however, he is ready to enter into a new phase of his life. Hrothgar, who becomes a mentor and father figure to the young warrior, begins to deliver advice about how to act as a wise ruler.

Though Beowulf does not become king for many years, his exemplary career as a warrior has served in part to prepare him for his ascension to the throne. In first part of the poem, Beowulf matures little, as he possesses heroic qualities in abundance from the start. Beowulf's fearless nature and love for battle make him a sought after idol in accords to the values of an Anglo-Saxon. Born into greatness, Beowulf makes his reputation indisputable through action. With the King Hrothgar as witness, Beowulf declares his intentions to aid the Danes by way of slaying the awesome beast Grendel who has caused havoc among the lands.
